How to Recover Your Restrictions Password

I know my Unlock password, but I forgot the Restrictions password I set on my iPad. Is there any way to reset that without doing a Restore?

Restrictions in iOS work by setting a separate password in Settings > General > Restrictions. Unfortunately, if you forget this password, you won’t be able to modify any of the Restrictions settings. I hate to tell you this, but aside from trying to remember the correct password, a Restore is the only option.

Remember to set up the iOS device as a new device instead of restoring from a backup.

When you Restore, don’t restore from a backup, as the backup will likely restore the Restrictions as well. You’ll have to set up your iOS device as a new device and manually load your applications back onto it. If you have a backup that pre-dates the time that you enabled Restrictions, then you could revert to that backup instead of the most recent, by Control-clicking on your iPad in iTunes and choosing Restore From Backup.
